Communicator - Transferring Calls

If you need to transfer a call to extension, queue, outside number or another existing call, use the following steps to complete the transfer.

Transfer

  1. When on a call, from the Communicator Ongoing Call screen, click Transfer (Figure 1)

  2. From the Transfer screen, select the action you wish to take from the “Transfer call to:” drop down (Figure 2)

  3. If you wish to transfer to an extension or a phone number, select “A user of phone number” (first available option) and then simply start typing. Communicator will offer choices from the Communicator available extensions and numbers from your Contacts.

  4. If you wish to transfer to a queue, select Queue and then click on the down arrow to provide the available queues. (Figure 3)

  5. Once you have select the destination, simply click either Blind, Supervised or Cancel. (Figure 4)

    1. Blind - the caller will be immediately transferred to the destination and disconnect you from the call.

    2. Supervised - the caller will be placed on hold and you will be connected to the destination and once connected, you can provide any details to the receiving party and then hang up to complete the transfer.

    3. Cancel - terminates the transfer and the caller remains connected to your extension
