Communicator GO SMS (texting)

If you have been assigned the SMS functionality for your Communicator GO, then you can follow the instruction below on how to make the SMS icon display in Communicator GO application as well as how to use the Communicator GO SMS functionality.

If a you have technical issues with the SMS function, please contact Mueller Technical Support at https://helpdesk.muellerreports.com for assistance.

If the SMS function is unavailable or does not work, you most likely have not been assigned an SMS number and the functionality is not currently available. Please contact your supervisor if you believe you need this ability.

Communicator GO app - Arranging the icons

  1. In Communicator GO app, tap the More --> arrow (bottom right)

     

  2. From the More screen, select Edit (top right corner)

     

  3. Drag the SMS icon you wish to the bottom menu area and drop where you wish to see the icon

     

  4. When you have adjusted the icons the way you like them, click Done (top right)

  5. Once completed, your menu icons should look something like the following.

Communicator GO app - Using the SMS [text] function

  1. In Communicator GO app, tap the SMS icon.

  2. To send a new SMS, click on the + button

  3. In the search field, you can enter a number and it will search against your existing contacts and directory.

  4. If you are entering a new phone number, you will need to tap the icon at the top left with a phone and 123

     

  5. Enter a phone number you will be texting

  6. Tap add

     

  7. Enter your message in the message field

  8. Once complete, tap the Send arrow to the right of the message field

     

  9. The + “plus” icon to the left of the message field is used to attach pictures and/or files to the message.

NOTE: The Communicator SMS messages do not synchronize between the Communicator GO app and the Communicator desktop version at this time.

Any previous conversations will be shown on the first screen of the SMS function in the application that was used to originally send the messages.
