Blocking or Redirecting Unwanted Calls
If you are receiving multiple calls from an unwanted caller, you have the ability to control how calls are answered, including sending them directly to voicemail or no answer.
First, you will need to know the callers number. You should be able to get this information from your call history
In Communicator, select your call history located at the bottom right of your application
Then select the RECEIVED tab from the call history to display all your calls that came into your extension.
Then find the number you wish to block or redirect in the history and then right-click and select “Copy number to clipboard”
Then from icons, select “Self Care”
This will bring up a new window called Online Self Care
From the Online Self Care window, select the Services tab
From the Services tab, select Call Filters & Blocking by clicking on the edit function to the far right
In the Call Filters & Blocking, click the plus sign (far right) to add a new line
Paste the number (or type it) into the Caller Number field
Select the Destination Type from the drop down. Your options are as follows:
Call Forward Number - the call will be forwarded to the destination you provide
No Answer - the call will not be answered
Busy - the caller will receive a busy signal, or be directed to whatever your busy destination is
Voicemail - the call will be redirected to a voice mailbox that you provide in the destination field
Not in service - the caller will be a “not in service” message”
Ringtone - the caller will connected to your extension
Click Save to save all your changes
Note that the first line if not able to be removed and has no default action. You can control how to respond to anonymous callers by selecting on of the choices in the Destination Type drop down list.
