Communicator - Call Failed
If you are placing an outbound call and get a message indicating the Call failed (see image below), it is due to not following step 6 from the Communicator Desktop Application User Guide during setup.
To correct the issue, follow these steps.
In Communicator, click on the gear icon
From the Preferences dialog, click on Phone and then click the My Phones… button
Make sure you only have “Use softphone” checked. If you have “Use deskphone” checked, uncheck it as Communicator will not function at all. You do not have a deskphone.
