Communicator - Call Failed

If you are placing an outbound call and get a message indicating the Call failed (see image below), it is due to not following step 6 from the during setup.

To correct the issue, follow these steps.

  1. In Communicator, click on the gear icon

     

  2. From the Preferences dialog, click on Phone and then click the My Phones… button

     

  3. Make sure you only have “Use softphone” checked. If you have “Use deskphone” checked, uncheck it as Communicator will not function at all. You do not have a deskphone.
