Using the FortiClient, you can connect to the Mueller system before logging into your computer. This is the recommended method to connect to the Mueller system as access to folders and policies are set upon login that otherwise are not set using a post login VPN connection.

These instructions are for use with users utilizing the simple push authentication and the FortiClient mobile application to complete two-factor authentication. Should you choose not to utilize this method, you must install the FortiClient on your computer and then utilize the PIN method for accessing the VPN.

Step-by-step guide

  1. From the login screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then select Sign-in options (Figure 1)

  2. Click on the shield icon (Figure 2) NOTE: There may be a scroll bar on the side to check the items in the following steps

  3. The option for the VPN connection should already be populated as well as the “Use my Windows credentials for VPN” option (Figure 3)

    1. Enter your Mueller username and password and press <Enter>

  4. You will see a “Connecting to VPN (SSL_Mueller)…” for a moment while it is contacting the VPN server ad validating your credentials (Figure 4)

  5. You will be shown a Get Token Code dialog box (Figure 5), however, you will not need to enter anything as push authentication should be enabled.

    NOTE: Push notification will send a request to your FortiToken application on your mobile phone requiring approval.

  6. Using your mobile phone and the FortiToken client, select Approve to validate the connection to Mueller VPN.

  7. Momentarily, your computer will show you the desktop and you will now be connected to eth Mueller network.

WARNING: If you receive a login request notification to your FortiToken application on your mobile phone and you are NOT actively logging into the Mueller VPN, DO NOT select Approve. You must select Deny to prevent another user from logging in with your credentials.
