Installing Teams

Teams is an application that is apart of the Office 365 suite and comes preinstalled on all Mueller Reports work stations and laptops. If you are using a personal laptop, desktop or phone, you can download Teams at this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app

Once you are logged in lets check to see if Teams is using the camera, microphone, and speaker you want to use.

Getting to your Devices Menu

The first step in this process is to get to your settings so you can check what devices are being used by Teams.

Step 1: In the top right corner of your Teams app, click on the icon that either has your name or your First and Last initial.

Step 2: After click that icon you should see this, click settings.

Step 3: When you click settings, a settings window will open and you now will need to click Devices.

You are now in the Devices menu, from this menu you can edit which devices are used by Teams.

Note: If you have a webcam you should see a preview of what your webcam sees where that black box is in the photo below.

Changing the Mic

Teams allows its users to select which microphone they want to use. This can be helpful for people who have a webcam that has a microphone and a stand alone microphone. This way the user can select which microphone is used by Teams.

Note: Users who have one microphone can only select that microphone.

In the image shown below, you will see the orange box surrounding the Microphone option in Teams. If there were more than one microphones plugged into the machine there would be more options.

Changing the Speaker

Teams allow their users to select which speaker it would like to use. This does not limit users to using desk speakers; however, users can choose to use headphones if they wish.

In the image below, you will see the Speaker device surrounded by an orange circle. If there were more than one output device plugged into the machine, you would see more than one device being offered.

Changing The Webcam

Teams allow their users to change which camera is being used during video calls. If you have more than one camera plugged into your computer, Teams may not use the camera you prefer.

Note: Only one application can use your webcam at any given time.

In the image below, you should see an orange box surrounding the Camera option. This is where you would go if you needed to check to see if your webcam was working and check which camera Teams are using.

The black box below the orange box is blocking the camera preview.
